Trail Sheets encourage students to seek out symbols and structures which tell of Wellington’s social, cultural and political histories. They add interest and intrigue to your walk through the capital. Each trail takes one to two hours and covers around 2 kilometres of walking. The routes can be easily incorporated into scheduled visits to Wellington’s many national institutions.
In this Trail Sheet, walk in the footsteps of Wellington College old boy, Hāmi Grace, as he prepares to join the WW1 contingent boarding the Limerick at Wellington Harbour in 1914. Hāmi was 25 years old when he died just over a year later - one of 2,721 New Zealanders to die at Gallipoli.
